What are inground vinyl pools?

Inground vinyl liner pools are the most affordable inground pool you can buy. They offer as much customization capability as gunite pools for less than half price and with no risk of cracking due to shifting ground or freeze and thaw cycles. The liner is super smooth and soft to the touch making them the most comfortable pool for children to play in. The pool comes as a kit consisting of steel walls, steel braces that support the walls, pool-krete that goes on the floor, and a vinyl liner that is perfectly laid on top of the steel walls and pool-krete bottom. This is all assembled in the ground with concrete or any decking of your choice laid around it for you to walk on.

How much do they cost?

This cost depends on a bunch of different factors such as size, shape, access to yard, slope of yard, soil material, etc. For a basic 12x24ft inground pool you will be looking at spending $35,000. For a 20×40 inground pool you will be looking at $65,000. To put this into perspective for you to get a 12x24ft fiberglass pool it would cost about $50,000 base price and a 16x40ft(4ft shorter) about $90,000-$100,000 base price. Gunite pools vary widely but its hard to find one for less than $80,000 nowadays. Don’t forget there is always financing options!

What makes us different

Unfortunately, the inground ground pool industry is full of contractors that cut corners and overlook details for a faster turnaround. This is actually why every pool builder in Texas are now only offering fiberglass pools. It takes less time and precision to install fiberglass pools. Pools of Solomon takes action against the temptation to skimp and cheat our clients. Although you can never guarantee an installation without any hiccups, we are committed to giving you the best experience from a pool company. We truly believe you should choose us to install your pool!

Behind the pool installation process

Dream & Plan

The first step to the pool of your dreams starts with you! It’s time to dream and we want to help you on this journey. We will take a look at your backyard and discuss the options available to you, making sure to provide our expertise on the best options for your property, budget, and most importantly, family. This process includes looking through different design options for your desired outcome. During the planning process we will also scope out any potential dangers, such as utility lines and easements, to ensure your family remains safe.

Permitting

Obtaining the required permits is an essential part of the pool installation process if you reside within city limits. Our team guarantees to be involved in every part of the permitting process and make sure that we are upholding the necessary requirements given by your city’s officials.

Excavation

We are ready to start digging! We will meet with you to make sure we have the correct placement of the pool and that we are in agreement on all details before we break ground. An excavator and skid steer will be used to dig and load the dirt into dump trucks. This is usually a 1-2 day process depending on the size of the pool. We will have the pool kit sent to your house before we even start digging so there is no delay.

Pool Kit Assembly

The next step is super cool! The steel walls get assembled and in a matter of hours you will see the dreaming coming to life! The walls are bolted together with the steel braces creating a pool structure that is going withstand the abuse of shifting ground. We must also pour concrete around the base of the walls. This step cannot be overlooked as the walls will eventually cave in without the concrete locking the walls into place. It is now a permanent structure at this point.

Plumbing

Once the walls are in place we can start inserting the plumbing. This consists of 2-inch PVC running the water to and from the skimmer system located at the pool to the pump and filter. All the pool equipment will be put into place such as skimmer, pump, filter, etc. The steel walls and plumbing will most likely be done on the same day.

Laying Pool Floor

We can now lay the floor for the vinyl liner. It is called vermiculite AKA Pool-Krete. It is a soft concrete like material that is specifically designed for use under vinyl liners. You don’t want to use anything hard like grout or concrete because when it inevitably cracks it creates a sharp edge that can tear the liner. Also, it just feels horrible to walk on. When pool-krete cracks it is soft enough to flatten and it cannot be detected under the liner. Never trust anyone that says to use grout! This only takes 4-8 hours to do but it must be allowed to dry before putting in the liner.

Insert Vinyl Liner

After the Pool-Krete dries we can hang the liner. This is actually a pretty simple process but care must be taken to ensure that there are no wrinkles in the liner. Once the liner is in place, we can start filling the pool with water!

Pouring Concrete

We can then backfill the steel walls with dirt. Once that is done we will set the forms for the concrete and get any inspections required by the state before pouring the concrete. There are other options besides concrete such as concrete pavers and travertine pavers (natural stone).

Finishing Touches

Once the concrete dries we will work on cleaning your pool from all the debris that worked it’s way into the pool. This can take several trips out to clean it. On the last cleaning we will “pool school” you. This means we will show you how to use and clean every part of your pool and equipment. Any questions will also be answered so you are not left overwhelmed by anything!
